Undersecretary John Magaw, the chief of the new Transportation Security Administration, has been very busy lately.
You may remember he was director of the BATF under Clinton & Reno. He still has a place in the current Bush administration, where he announced at a Transportation committee hearing that HE would not allow pilots to carry guns. That's right, HE, rather than Congress, will make this decision.
He's good at making decisions . . . according to the Washington Post, he just spent $410,000 of our tax dollars redecorating his office with plush carpet, mahogany stained doors, crown molding, and $109,000 worth of audio equipment. Our tax dollars at work!
Nothing but the best for our Undersecretary. :barf:
(The preceeding was paraphrased from a Legislative Update by U.S. Congressman Ron Paul which appeared in the local community paper.)
