AR front sight post?

I've been thinking about changing the front sight post on my AR to improve visibility with my aging eyes at all times and especially during low light hunting. This front post would be used with a rear aperture as a backup to an older Trijicon 1.5x24 Acog that I'm currently sending off for repair.

What are your thoughts on the front post? What works for you?

I -really- wanted to install a front aperture sight for my 20" AR because literally the ONLY shooting that I ever do with it is 100-300 yard steel plates and aperture front and rear seemed like a great idea for this shooting.

What I found is that apparently this is not a popular arrangement because choices in a front aperture sight for an AR-15 standard front isn't (seemingly) widely available, and when I did find one that was advertised at a decent price... it sat backordered for a year before the vendor sent me a cancellation notice on my order.
