Ar-15 build question

I want to build a heavy barrel ar-15 from scratch. I have no experience building one of these rifles but after researching it, it doesn't seem too difficult. My question is, how much will it cost for the tools needed to complete this project? I don't want to have to spend 300-400 bucks on tools to build one rifle. Please help a new builder out.

I'd suggest that you build your lower, but for a first time project, get a complete upper; most companies sell them, though if you're set on the heavy barrel, that might be an issue. Parts to build a lower are very simple.

One thing; did you want a long heavy barrel, or one of those short, heavy carbine barrels? I looked at one of those DPMS, forget the name of the model, carbine with bull barrel. Very unbalanced.
