Anyone used Win 748 in their 6.8 SPC?

I've got a fair few canisters of 748 at the moment and i was wondering that since it's suitable for 223 it may be ok for 6.8 SPC. I can't find any load data anywhere for the 90 or 110grain projectiles.

Has anyone tried 748 in their 6.6 spc or know where i may be able to find some data?

I don’t currently load 6.8’s. I am in a pre buy/build mode, not yet determining my preference between the 6.8 and the 6.5 G.

I have been collecting load information (on both) and have around 340 loads for the 6.8 SPC Spec 2.

I like 748 and use it all but exclusively in 308s and close to that in 223s, so I look for its use and in my collection of load data, I have only 5. Data for 748 is slim. I don’t know if this is because of some suitability question or if those who divulge their loading data don’t use it.

I DO NOT KNOW if any of these loads are safe. This is only collected data for my reference. Below is the data. (tables don't display well)

Bullet - Powder - Charge - Primer - COL - Barrel - Velocity
110 H V-Max - 748 - 30 - Rem 7.5 - n/a - 16” 10:1 - 2600
110 H V-Max - 748 - 32 - CCI BR4 - 2.27 - 18” 11:1 - 2574
110 Barnes TSX - 748 - 20.5 - CCI BR4 - 2.3 - 18” 11:1 - 2334
130 Speer SP - 748 - 31 - CCI BR4 - 2.25 - 18” 11:1 - 2423
Sub-Sonic Load
130 Speer SP - 748 - 16.3 - CCI BR4 - 2.25 - 16” 9.5:1 - n/a

All ways defer to a known source for loading information and all ways error on the side of safety.

Be very safe and enjoy.

Win 748 is not a good choice for 6.8 spc. The best I was able to get was using 31gr of Win 748 under the Sierra Pro Hunter #1810, It was 2310 fps from SSA cases, and 2370 fps from Remington cases, the SSA was more accurate, but not enough to consider using 748 in the 6.8 again.

For 85-90gr bullets, Reloader 7 is the best choice. For 100-110gr, H322 has been the most consistent, and Reloader 10 produces a higher velocity. AA2200 has has good reports, but I haven't tried it yet. Use the 748 in some other caliber.
