Anyone here try the new Pachmayr Guardian Grip yet?

It IS kinda nifty. Even though my first thought was some industrious engineer put a magazine extension on a revolver, I kind of do like the idea of thinking outside the box.

What's the reputation of Pachmayr?

My experiences with that company's products
in the last decades has been dismal including
a recent purchase for a K-frame Smith square butt.

I noted The Revolver Guy on his site also
had little good to say about the square butt
K-frame model.

Love to see an honest review of these new
grips.

I just put an old style Pachmary Signature on a Ruger Blackhawk. Easy install, nice snug fit and cushy recoil. On this particular application (single action revolver) I like it much better than Hogue. The Hogue does not slide on properly - not a satisfactory fit. A lesser complaint, is the nasty scar the Hogue leaves on the grip frame. That might be tolerated if the fit were satisfactory.

Yes, a positive experience with Pachmayr.

I like Hogue on my double action Smiths and Rugers. They are factory in some cases.

UncleEd,

IMHO the only way to judge a grip is to buy one and try it out.

Hmm. From a marketing stanpoint, that's not a bad idea. I haven't bought any Pachmayers in this century, but I have sets of their grips that are 37 years old and they're still going string.
