Tritium has a half-life of 12.3 years, meaning at the end of that time, it will have expended half of its radioactivity, and 12.3 yrs. after that, half of that half, and so on.

I've heard of some on higher recoiling guns going out sooner. The trit vials may shake loose or something. Or it just may be a defective set. Even after the "half-life" they aren't just supposed to turn off, just get progressively dimmer.

NITE SITES dead

I read, somewhere that someoone contacted the night sight manufacturer and they replaced them free. It's worth a try.

I had Trijicon inserts installed on my Browning HP Mark II in 1986....they had noticibly dimmed about 7 years later and died entirely about 4 years after that....so make that approximately 11 years from when they were installed.
