Model 5444?
Think they just came out last week?
The .38 +P version is one of my favorites.
Hoping that it will get California approved.

Not yet, and not sure if I will... still thinking.

It's heavier than my .38, and would be a sweet heart with +P 158 gr loads, but I'm not sure that's reason enough to buy one.

I doubt I'd ever actually carry it as a .357, as I simply don't have much need for the extra power in a trail gun (which is how I use my 3" LCRXs). There are no large carnivores where I tread these days, and two legged predators aren't immune to +P .38s.

I'm mostly waiting on the 3" LCRX in 9mm, not that it will perform any better than the .38, but I have a bunch more ammo on-hand for that one. :D

I don't think it's going to be very popular, I mean even with the longer barrel, the gun is still very light for .357 Mag at 21oz. The SP101 3 inch is 27oz, that extra weight makes a big difference when shooting and isn't extremely heavy. About the only difference will be the LCR's superior trigger.

Where I saw the potential for a 3 inch LCR was in .327. Ruger hasn't made that yet, but I'm sure by the end of the year they will.
