I hope someone can provide me with the full, correct answer regarding importation of a rifle from Canada using BATF Form 6
I hold a C&R license although I've been told by the exporter that a C&R hold no bearing in this transaction. The exporter (a large, well respected firm) also told me that he is shipping many of these particular rifles to US residents using Form 6.
The rifle is a military rifle (not an M1, btw) and from Yugoslavia. It is unfired.
I'd be happy to provide more info if necessary but don't want to muddy up my initial question.
So, as long as the rilfe isn't "banned" by the US, can I import a milsurp rifle into the US from Canada using a Form 6 without many hassles? Have you ever done this successfully?
Any information and personal experience will be greatly appreciated.
I also called the BATF was was not satisfied with the answers I was given as they were too easy. It can't be that easy to import on Form 6 or everyone would be doing it.
