Anybody ever send anything to Smith and Wesson's Performance Center For Work?

I have a Model 66-3 that has started to have some light strikes so I figured I would send it in to Smith and have them work it over. Basically I am thinking of having the following done.

Bead Blasting
4 inch barrel replaced with 3inch
Front night sight added
Trigger job
Fix any issues.

Anybody ever have anything like this done? How long? Good work?

I haven't, but what would it cost to have the 4-inch barrel replaced with a 3-inch? Seems to me that for the money, you could buy another gun with a 3-inch barrel. And if it's giving light strikes, S&W may fix that for free, postage included.

Were I you, I'd try to get a cost quote before sending it in. Then I'd compare that with something from a reputable smith like C&S or any of the other big guys who'll do similar work.
