Any special tricks barrel fitting a Ruger No.1?

With the barrel still chucked in the lathe to chamber & fit, how do you trial fit the action with the hanger in the way? Any special tricks, gotcha's or tools to worry about?

About the only way, is to thread the receiver on, drop the breech block, and put a reamer in from behind, and hand ream it, then check the fit with a gauge.

I wanted to rebarrel a Ruger #1, but I have bought (4) of them looking for one that does not shoot well.

For factory barrels, #1s shoot great.

All my Ruger #1's & #3's have shot well too! IIRC, a bit of research turned up that when Ruger first starting making the No.1, Wilson supplied the barrels. Some of these early rifles were very if'y in the accuracy department. Later Ruger either got a new supplier or started making there own barrels & quality/accuracy took a jump.
