Any pet .25-06 loads?

Well I got ready to start some load development for my .25-06 but then as I was gathering equipment and components I realized I had no .25 caliber powder funnel for my 550. D'oh!! So whilst I wait for the good folks at Dillon to send the required part, I was hoping some of you good people might have some favorite loads to share in the 87-100gr bullet weights.

I have a 25-06 with a 26" Shilin barrel on a '98 Mauser action and a synthetic stock. It really likes 100 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips with moderate loads of IMR 4350. Works great on the local (smallish) whitetails too!

Have fun looking for your pet load.

My 700 sendero really, really likes 4350, WLR primers, Remington brass and Seirra 75 grn JHP's. Very very accurate at 100 yrds. 1/2" 5 shot groups on demand.....

I have two:

2506sierra.jpg

This group measured around 0.489-inch, for 5-shots at 200-yards
It was fired using a Ruger 77R in .25-06 Remington with Leupold 10x optics
Case: Remington
Primer: Winchester WLR
Powder: 52.5 grains of H-4831
Bullet: Sierra 120 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail
Velocity: 2922 fps 15' from muzzle

2506nosler.jpg

This group, which measured somewhere around 0.717-inches for 5-shots at 200-yards.
It was fired using a Ruger 77R in .25-06 Remington with Leupold 10x optics
Case: Remington
Primer: Winchester WLR
Powder: 53.3 grains of H-4831
Bullet: Nosler 120 grain Spitzer Point Boat Tail
Velocity: 3076 fps 15' from muzzle

Got about the same results using 47.7 of IMR-4350 with the Sierra bullet as the H-4831 load.

I prefer the two Sierra loads over the Nosler loading.
