Is there any good public land for deer hunting during rifle season in any of these states? I've hunted in Kentucky on private land for years, but all that land was recently sold to outfitters who charge an insane amount of $ to hunt. So I need to find someplace else to go. I live in Ohio and would like to hunt in a state that is relatively close and that has a rifle season( its shotgun only here). I'm not asking anyone to give up their secret spot nor am I necessarily looking for huge bucks, although thats always a good thing! I would just like to find a place where I have a decent chance of tagging a doe or two and that's not completley overran with other hunters.
