What’s the purpose of the dog bone looking pieces that come with some of the “anti walk” trigger assembly pin sets?

That way you have something holding onto the pins so the retaining screws don't mar the receiver. Oh, and they're tactical!

I normally wouldn’t be looking at this sort of “upgrade” but I recently picked up a few Trigger Tech brand triggers which are legitimately the nicest triggers ever but of course their drop in design means there’s no tension holding the original pins. If the dog bone is just for non marring and or aesthetics then I’ll stick with the less expensive ones.

The pins with the "dog bone" are anti rotational. They are designed to reduce pin hole wear from the rotation of the pins.
