Ok, I looked around on www.7.62x54r.net and couldn't find the answer to my question, which is:

What unit of measurement is the rear sight on my M91/30 incremented in?

meters? yards? something else?

its a unit om measurement known as "arshins"...

which is supposedly equal to an infantryman's stride. I think its about 39.9 inches, but don't quote me

The oldest rear sights are in arshinii, the newer ones are in meters, if this article is correct.
