I noticed after peening the splines on the barrel of my M1 the front post is tight. No wiggle.
Now after I fire 50 rds or so it wiggles again. Barrel cools stops wiggling. Im confused I figured once the barrel heats up it would heat up gas cyclinder aswell
Gas cylinder must be expanding a bit more than the barrel when hot (cylinder is stainless; not sure that matters??). Assume it tightens up when it cools down?
