They want to reach 5 million people at $2 a pop? That is a good enterprise.

And, the "survey" is obviously put on by a biased group, so what good is it? If the gov't wants a good survey, shouldn't it be best to go to a professional "unbiased" survey company?

Sounds like a way to make money off of a hot topci to me. But, I could be wrong.

Thanks, DC - I should have thought of that.

So, this is even better than I thought - the Chinese can help disarm us, they can make a ton of money (from whatever idiots actually take part in this), and they may have a little left over for Billy Jeff. Slick. Willy slick. ;)

Anyone know where that 1 900 number leads?

Sounds like a total scam -- if they even sucker in 50 000 people, that's a cool $100 000 for the cost of a phone line and a fax machine. Then just toss the faxes received in the bin.

I don't remember where I read it, but I read an article that described such polls as bogus and profiteering.

You gotta ask why they could not take the poll through the e-mail. Most e-mail readers have an option that copies the original message and sets it off from the response.

Any response typed could fill those blanks that they want you to write in. Then when you hit the send button the only cost you incur is $0.00, and they get their form all filled out back to them.

Nope, they don't care about the poll, just the bottom line in their bank account.

Thanks for the tip off and the Domain check -- it's a beauty!

I'm passing those two posts around.
