Annealing Brass

I see the phrase 'annealing brass' from time to time. What exactly does that mean and should I be doing it to my .22-250 brass. I know it has something to do with heat tempering. I get 5 or 6 good reloads on my brass now. Would I get more if annealed? This may sound like a dumb question of someone that's been reloading but I certainly have never annealed my brass but most of my reloading has been .45 .357 and .380. I get the feeling that the .22-250 is different when it comes to the question of annealing or not. Please excuse me if this has been asked and answered but I get tons of hits on 'brass' and 'annealing' so just give me a different search keyword and I go there. Thanks
