An Argument with an Anti-Gun

Who said that guns are immoral. Put your faith and trust the LORD. Being a moderate Christian and a gun owner cant figure out how to argue back with the guy (a friend). Im hoping to counter-attack with quotable quotes, verses from the bible that it is everyones moral right and obligation to defend themselves and their loveones with any weapon available. Can we find any from the bestseller?

Help me out here guys.

Google "Just War Theory" and you'll see that firearms and self defense are consistent with Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. There is no justification for pacifism in Christianity. You can go to the Catholic online encyclopedia for a definition of self defense.

The biggest flaw in non-Catholic demoninations, is that their interpretations of the bible need not include the history, traditions and development of the Bible and the Faith. Its quite radical when you think about it.

As much as a reasonable discussion would be interesting, in our experience, it just won't happen. Freedom to worship is one of our precious rights, but here on TFL we don't debate religious-based arguments because they become debate of dogma, tenet and doctrine and there is never a reasonable discussion by our standards.
