If one had to use a .22 LR for home/self defense, what type of ammunition would be the best?
I ask this because I plan on getting a .22 sometime for target shooting, but I'd like to keep some kind of ammo for the above purpose if for some reason that's all I could get to.
What's the most inexpensive type of 12 gauge load to just get used to overall funtion of the firearm?
I use 00BK for home defense, but I haven't fired a shotgun in a few years and I'm not to educated on all the different types of loads.

They carry Federal, Winchester & Remington, all $22-$24/100
