You still have to register and apply for a NC CCW if you plan on living in NC

They'll take into account your CCW already, which may mean you'll get your permit more expediently (most likely), but you still have to apply.

It'll cost $90 (80 for processing, and 10 for fingerprints) @ your local Sheriff's Dept.

packing dot org and ask the folks in N.C. Also,check the map and take the risk. Keep in mind that N.C. is also an open carry state except in certain places.

If you are just visiting it looks like you will be fine. Still need to learn the places in N.C. that are off limits while packing. Also, note that if you are driving through S.C. ... you can't while in our stuck in the mud of mindless politicians that can't get a real job state.

I am just visiting, I did go to packing.org and I just need to know if I am legal to carry in NC with my AL permit. I am here for a few days. I suppose reciprocity means that NC permits are honored in AL but AL permits are not honored in NC? I really don't know. But I'd like to ; )
