In order to protect our members and TFL from possible litigation, all members must abide by the following new rules:

    1. Copying and pasting entire articles from another site to TFL is strictly prohibited. The same applies to articles from print or other media, and to posting photographs taken of copyrighted pages or other media.

    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

Thank you for your cooperation and your participation in TFL, the leading online forum for firearms enthusiasts.

I suspect that there are quite a few people who bailed out of shootersforum when they changed the format, I'm seeing names I recognize. I like this forum but it lacks some of the sub-forums they had over there that really added to the experience. Any chance this forum could expand a little?

My quick response is - probably not. But out of curiosity, what sub-forum do you feel is missing here.

There was also a section called "my neck of the woods " where posters would put pictures of where they hunted, it was interesting and very active.

The rimfire forum question comes up fairly regularly each year. We prefer to base the forums on firearm type instead of ammo type. If there was a rimfire forum, it would have to be broken down into pistols, revolvers, and rifles since each of those have their own peculiarities. As it stands now, any and all rimfire discussions fit well in the existing forums. I don't see them lacking in visibility or responses.

From the beginning, TFL has been focused on firearms which an airgun is not. Even so, there have been numerous threads on airguns, and they don't get deleted unless for a reason any other thread would get deleted. I did a quick search for airguns in the rifle forums and found a bunch of pages (35) full of airgun threads. Nearly all of them had multiple pages of replies. So, again, they are not being ignored by the interested members.

As for the picture thread in hunting, that could be done as a single ongoing thread in "The Hunt" forum. It would be similar to the "club" type of threads we have in several other forums (handguns, etc.).
