Action pistol match scoring

I shot in a match yesterday but I don't quite understand the scoring. My score was 1297-87x. What exactly does the 87x stand for? If someone could explain the scoring I would appreciate it. Thanks

Each shot receives the value of the scoring zone it penetrates and, in addition to the highest scoring zone in the center, there is a central zone with an X in it. Any shot in this zone is scored as a maximum point scoring hit AND is designated as an "X" hit. So you had 87 shots in the X zone. The number of X hits only matters in case of a tie in the score - he who has the most X's wins.

This is especially useful in the Bianchi Cup Match since most of the prominent shooters will score the "possible" (the maximum score possible) and the highest X count determines the winner.
