Can I make a SS pot with a SS valve on it to bottom pour lead? Any try any thing like that before?

I dunno, I'm thinking I'd have more materials in a pot than it takes to buy a good casting furnace of proven design. If you're talking about a smelting pot it sounds like something that could be a good idea.

Something made out of scrape that you would set on another heat source.

Good point, I think that's where it gets tricky.

Well I would not put the valve right on the bottom, more like on the side at the bottom. Like a large coffee pot or something.
