On this sad day in history, a very important vote took place in Mass. The vote was a preliminary for candidates for the seat of the late Joe Moakley. On the dem ticket, Steven Lynch won. This is important as State senator Cheryl Jaques, the fuel behind the mass chapter 180 gun contol legislation, was defeated. She ran a campaign of slander against Mr. Lynch. Calling him an NRA sympathiser. She vowed that if she made it to congress to be a supporter of tougher gun control. Although the Mass. Goal Assoc. is supporting Jo Ann SPrague, the republican candidate, they are probably very happy that Jacues was defeated.
