A Trick To Make Beeswax Pliable

Ever wonder how you can make beeswax pliable but not turn it into mush? Well, I will share a trick with you. Melt one pound of beeswax completely and sprinkle 200 grains of baking soda into the melt. Stir the contents thoroughly and let cool. The beeswax will be very pliable without being mushy. Now remember this - adding more baking soda will not make the beeswax more pliable. There is a point of no return - only so much baking soda will combine with the wax. I use the pliable beeswax for carving, furniture work, temporary sealant, etc. And I always filter the beeswax prior to use.

I trust that this information will be valuable to some. And you're welcome!

I will try that. Lanolin tends to work, but still haven't found the right mix ...

Toilet bowl rings are very nice, tho!
