A "Square Butt" tiny rubber grip question

A buddy of mine was given a very vintage Chief's Special by his father, who is an LEO and had used it as his backup for years.

Only thing though... it's a Square Butt J-frame

From reading this forum, I realize that they do exist, but they seem to be a lot less common.

Right now, the pistol has a big chunky Pachmayr grip on it (my LEAST favorite aftermarket grips). He's a P.I./Loss Prevention specialist (www.southeastprivateeye.com) and really wants some small grips along the lines of my S&W 642 Boot grips so he can use this as Backup or even 3rd gun.

I've had NO luck so far... Does anyone make SLIM plastic or rubber grips for the square-butt J-frame?

Hogue makes rubber grips for the square butt J-frames (normally these came only with 3" barrels, but some 2" examples are known), but I don't think they really qualify as "slim."

My buddy has one of these and when he could not find any rubber grips he liked he ended up with the stock wood grips with a tyler T-grip adapter.

I like the stock slim wood grips on square Js and Is.
Smallish hands.

TERRY MURBACH and I have similar tastes in grips. On the larger framed guns, when the wood is thin enough to see through, you almost have it right. :)

I've owned 2 sq.butt 3" mod. 36's and 2 with a 2"bbl.I also used standard wood grips and Tyler grip adapters.Back in those days J.Scott,Herrett and several others made J-frame sq. butt grips.Try running an ad in the classified section of this forum.tom.
