At work, I have to do some ballistic impact testing to show material performance when hit by a .50 BMG round. I don't need a full power impact, but even at 1000 yards the standard 750 gr bullet still has 2000 ft/s. So, I need a to find a cartridge that can do that. Using the 50 BMG itself is not an option due to range rules. Any ideas? I also probably want to make some in the 1500 and 1000 ft/s range, but those are secondary. I have a budget, the price is a lesser concern, and so is accuracy (within limits, I need to hit a 4" target at 50 ft or so).
