7.62x30 -- 150 grain .311 bullets

Any experience with this combination?

Shortage of components, cannot find the 123 grain .310 bullets, and want to do some shooting. Can find the 150 grainers....

They'll shoot just fine...bullet won't expand very well if shot out of a semiauto, tho. Velocity would be kinda low.

I tryed some 125gr .311 (.303) in my Mini 30 - didn't do very well. .308 dia 150 Speers do fine.
Natchez has Rem, Win & Hornady 123gr .310 slugs - or did have.

This is where slugging the barrel may be the ticket. That way you know for sure what bullet to load.
