7.55 swiss coal

I loaded some trimmed PPU brass at starting charge. Coal was 3.060. That's what printed coal was with a 168gr bullet. Before crimping I tried chambering a round in my K31. I couldn't get a round to full battery until 2.940. I could see marks on the shoulder of the Hornady HPBT keeping the bolt from full battery.

Are these twenty rounds safe to shoot with the deeper bullet seating? The 39 grs of H4895 is far from filling the case

The PPU ammo is 2.905 coal with a 174 gr sp. Any opinions appreciated.

Fox,

I had to load my 7.5x55 to a COAL of 2.925" for both Sierra's 165 and 180 GKs.

Early on I tried 3.05" - Way too long! Since there was no crimp groove on these SGKs, All I did was put them back into the bullet seating die and reduced the COAL.

Isn't some of the loading data for the 7x55 for earlier rifles than the K-31, with different chamber dimensions?
Since you've only loaded twenty rounds like that, unloading them might be prudent.
It's not going to be that big of a deal.
Then find load data specific for the K-31.
