64 Grain PP

Anyone have any load data for or direct me to a manual for Winchester 64 Grain PP for .224. None of my manuals have a recipe for this particular grain of bullet. I have checked Lee and Honady manuals and also been to Hogdon's website.

Thanks in advance

My lee manual has several loads for 64 grain jacketed in .223 remington, but I would have to know what you are shooting. Many cartridges use a .224 projectile.

.223 loads;
accurate 2520 starting 23.4 max 26.0
accurate 2460 starting 21.6 max 24.0
accurate 2230 starting 21.1 max 23.4
a-xmr-2015 starting 19.8 max 22.0

Good deer bullet btw. My buddy uses it for white tail and swears by it.

Thanks guys. mainly target shooting 100-200 yrds

Where did you find the Winchester data? That is what I have been looking for. Does it specify barrel twist? I am working with a 1-9 B.T.W.

Winchester used to publish their own data but now Winchester powder data is found at the Hodgdon powder website. It has always been published using 748 powder at 25 grains with the 64PP in .223. I've loaded them at 24.5-25 grains of 748 in my Colt AR and they have shot well. I bought a lot of the 64PP's when they 1st came out. At that time they had a cannelure but I don't think they do today. Seating them at 2.235-2.240" overall length put the cannelure at the middle of the cannelure. My early 64PP's varied a bit in bullet weight and sorting them by weight helped groups.

The batch I bought has a cannelure. I wanted a mid-weight bullet to try out. I have been shooting 55gr Hornadys but I ran across a good deal on the 64PP, so I thought I would give them a shot.

Thanks
