617 best group

Did a lot of shooting with my 617 today and here is the best groups from 25 yards off a rest with CCI - SV ammo.

Federal Match HV and Blazers did just about as well. The SVs ejected smoother than the Match.

That is an excellent group! I had bought a 617 some years ago with the hopes of accuracy exceeding my centerfire revolvers but I could never get it to shoot that well. Yours is definitely a shooter!

Maybe it's just my imagination but there looks to be some powder burns around the edges of your stellar group.

AzShooter , Paul105 - if my 617 was anywhere close to what you two are shooting I would still have it! Impressive groups! 100 yards - WOW! I may try some 100 yard groups later this year.

Yessir, those 617s are shooters. Below is my best group with my 4" 10-shot 617. I don't have any groups shot from a bench, so this is my best 25 yard offhand (double action) group.

That’s about as good as it gets. Great double action shooting.
