Yeah, it's real. Special run, should have started life with the "Target Grey" finish over a stainless base. If that's not on there, it *might* be either a good chop job or a second run of plain stainless 5" I haven't heard of.

S&W makes a 5 inch barrel revolver. The M&P R8 (I think that's right). It a 8 shot 357 Mag with 5 inch barrel with a rail too. I think they make an 8 shot standard version as well.

Problem is they are picturing a new 6'' model---the 5" was distinctive looking and had the old style grips.

I've always thought the 5" barrel is the perfect compromise-but, I suppose, one could make the logical argument "Neither fish nor fowl"...

These sell out quickly everytime they are introduced for Davidsons. Why wouldn't they up the production? I would buy one if available right now.

Yup, saw one on Davidson's site this summer. I should have jumped on that when they were available. Using it for target shooting, it would be great.
