45 acp & red dot users?

my ruger p97 seems to love my hardball recipe of a 230 gr. fmj over 4.7 grs. of red dot. estimated velocity is 725 fps., & function & accuracy seem good. does anyone else use red dot in the 45 auto & what have been the loads you used & your findings?..thanks

You bet. I have sung the praises of Red Dot with the 45ACP for awhile. I use 5.0 grains of RD under a 230 grain bullet, lead or metal. This puts me in the 900fps range (chrono'd). I'm using a Springfield 1911.
