.44

I use 200grlrfp in a .44-40, 9.5gr Herco duplicates factory 200gr jrfp velocity, 1220fps.
9gr Universal also gives 1220fps.
19gr IMR 4227 also give 1220fps

You want lead flat point in a 44 spec? How very easy to do! Drop in 5-6 grains of Red Dot or Bullseye, take a 200 gr lead bullet turn it upside down and seat it so some of the bullet is out of the case.
This depends on the bullet, some have lube grooves approx ¼ “ from the bullet base that make good crimp grooves. I haven’t crono’ed this exact combo but the usual vel is the same as the 200 gr bullet loaded with ½ gr more powder. IE if 6 gr of red dot gives 800 fps with the bullet seated normally then 5.25 – 5.5 grains with the bullet reversed is the same.

Caution! Use this major flat point idea only with lite to medium loads
