44 magnum in trapper

So, i got a bunch of bullets from my buddy that owns a gunshop, and couldn't use them all, so i had to buy a couple 44 magnums to use some of the bullets. Anyway i got a Ruger redhawk 7" and a winchester 94 trapper 16".
I'm looking for some good loads for both/ either, using some cast 240s and or XTP 240's. I'd like to use for bear this spring and am interested in thoughts/ opions on which bullet will perform better. I don't mind practicing with what i hunt with, so i don't need light loads, although i'm wondering if i can use 44 specials in the trapper.

Buy a box and go to the range. If the rifle feeds and fires them without any problems - the answer is yes. Pistol-caliber lever guns have a habit of being picky about using "Special" ammo - than includes .357/.38 as well.

H110 or W296 are some real good powders for hunting velocities.

Get a good loading manual and go by it. Most will suggest using magnum primers with these slow burning powders.
