Hope this doesn't get shot down as a drive by, but, for anyone that's interested in a 1911 .400 CorBon, there's a barrel listed on eBay right now.

I'm not sure how the .400 stacks up against .40 or 10mm, though, or if you even get ammo/brass anymore.

With good brass you can reach 10mm auto ballistics and beyond, but that would be pushing it hard. Still it's a fun, useful, endeavor, especially if you don't have a .40 I have used cut down 7.62 brass reamed and have got some impressive results but I have heavy springs supported barrel etc. to deal with the high intensity loads.

There is also the .40 super which is supposed to be a stronger case and able to withstand greater pressures. I would like to try a .45 super or .40 super one day in the future if (when) I get into reloading

My 40 pin loads loaded in Federal brass was moving a 135gr JHP Nosler bullet at 1560fps.
