I have 4" and 6" model 28s.

I have a 6.5" 24-3 (.44 Special)

I have a 4" Model 58 (.41 Magnum)

I have a Brazilian contract 1917 in .45 ACP.

And my most recent was a 4" Model 25-5 in .45 Long Colt.

It looks like they tend to follow me home, too.

Your missing an 8 3/8

Me? No thanks. Anything longer than 6", or shorter than 4", looks unbalanced to me. Even 6" is a bit long for my taste.

Maybe a 3.5 on the short side if I ever run into one.

They follow you home because you appreciate the old blued N-frame revolvers and you have the cash. Back when Bass Pro offered a 5" 686, I was so tempted to buy one. Seemed like the perfect barrel length for general shooting. I later went back and of course the sale was over and they no longer had that barrel length.

I really like my 8 3/8" Model 57. They just don't make them like that any more.

@ Mike and Cajun...

Sorry you've got to have at least one 8" tube for your N frame collection. How do you watch the Dirty Harry movies without one? LOL!

I agree that the four inch is the bee's knees though!

I've never seen Dirty Harry carry an 8 3/8" barreled revolver. 6" yes.

All of my N Frames are 6" or 6.5". I reckin' I need to adopt a 4" one of these days. I had a 3" 657, but traded it.

I have 5" and 6.5" N frames. I'd love a 4", but we'll see if that happens. I don't see me getting into the 88" ones... those just never look right to me (but then, I would like a nice long barreled X frame...).

I never said he did. I said it was required to watch Dirty Harry movies. I'm sorry my attempt at humor didn't translate well on the internet.

If you haven't shot an 8 3/8" N frame, don't knock it till you have tried it. I bought this one to keep my 8 3/8" K-22s company. It is a blast to shoot, especially when sending rounds waaaayyy down range.

No nickel, either. Or stainless steel.

"If you haven't shot an 8 3/8" N frame, don't knock it till you have tried it."

I have. That's why I'm knocking it.

"I said it was required to watch Dirty Harry movies."

Ah. OK, gotcha.
