i have a makarov in 9mm mak.which is just a bit hotter than a .380.my ? is this for the past couple of years i have noticed that the 9mm mak bullits are very rarely deformed when i retrieve them .i have shot them at or threw various objects and this round out of many diff i fire(.44 mag,357,38 .45 colt,.45 acp etc)is most often retrived with very little deformation compared to othrer rounds even my .32 bullits seem to deforme more.so is the .380/mak9mm round just weak as far as penitration or expansion?
do you think the .32 is really a better round than the 380/9mm mak????

Scoops,

You might look at the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership site. I remember seeing a post there comparing the .380 to other rounds. I believe it was a question under the "Ask the Rabbi" area.

Having done some unscientific but carefully-observed testing with .380, 9mm Mak, and 9mm parabellum on mild steel plates at the same range with similar guns and fmj ammo, I can absolutely affirm what Libertarian says: 9mm Mak is about 1/3 more powerful than .380.
