375 Ruger

I have a Ruger Alaskan on order with Ruger and I'm wondering which powders are getting the best results.
I'm going to stock up on components before it gets here and was hoping some of you were already loading for this little squirrel gun.
My main use will be for elk, and the occasional squirrel or rabbit:D, planning on using mostly 270gr bullets.

It will be a few weeks, the model I have coming is not in production right now.
I do know that 375 H&H, 416 Rigby and 458 win mag do the trick though.:D

I'd check the Hodgdon site & others for powders they list. Should be some common ones you can use for other applications.

I know what some of the manuals list....H380, 4895, 4350, 3031, W748 as well as some Ramshot and reloader........ I'm just wondering if anyone loading for this has had any that really shined?

I have no experience with .375 Ruger myself, but based on my success with H4350 in my .375 H&H I'd probably start with that. Another good one might be Reloader 17.

Try these (in approximate order)

Cartridge: 375 Ruger
Bullet: 270, Hornady SP 3710
Cartridge O.A.L. 3.340"
Barrel Length: 24"

Constant 54,250 psi

Code:
Type PwdrWt(gr)	%Fill V(fps) P(psi)	%Burn
Vihtavuori N560	88.1	108	2,731	54,253	94
Reloder-22	87.5	109	2,723	54,253	97
Ramshot Hunter	82.4	100	2,687	54,253	99
Reloder-19	83.3	105	2,677	54,253	96
Accurate 4350	79.1	104	2,674	54,253	100
Vihtavuori N550	78.6	97	2,672	54,253	100
IMR 4831	79.8	105	2,658	54,253	100
H4831SC 85.0	106	2,638	54,253	94
Win Supr 780	86.6	103	2,631	54,253	96
Hodgdon H4350	79.0	101	2,617	54,253	97
IMR 4350	78.8	100	2,617	54,253	97

CONSULT YOUR LOADING MANUALS BEFORE LOADING ANY OF THE ABOVE BULLET/POWDER COMBOs

I can tell you from experience that my 375H&H loves (really loves) N560
Note also that ~106-108% fill indicates powder and bullet meet, but do not appreciably compress.
