I recently came into a 21" model, I already own a 16", but mostly I have shot military surplus ammo in it. I want to test the accuracy of the 21" model, so I am looking for suggestions from anyone who loads for a saiga, what bullet weight and powder produces the best groups?

Thanks

In all my 308 autoloaders, I use 168 SMKs over 41.5 gr IMR-4895 in Lake City brass and WLR primer.

My Saiga loves 165gr Rem Corelokts with 41gr IMR 4064. This is a light load but functions 100% and will often cut 1.5" 5 shot groups off the bench. Have taken many deer with this load and weapon over the last 6 years.

You may find that the 16" barrel offers better accuracy due to harmonics while the 21" offers only better velocity and range.

I don't load for a Siaga but do roll my own for an M1 some bolt guns and recently a DPMS. I have still found it hard to duplicat the quality and consistency of Federal Gold Metal Match is well know as the best factory 308 ammo.
