300 win mag primers

Hey guys loading 300 win with 175gr Sierra's for 600 yard shoot. I will be loading IMR 7828 out of a heavy barreled custom 300 win mag. The Lyman #49 is saying use Win large Rifle primers.

I have win LR MAG primers and Fed 215M Gold Medal match also. Working loads as we speak. What do y'all think? Going to range on Mon. to try out. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Primer question

Winchester primers have been my personal favorite since the early 1980's for both rifle & handgun cartridges. The thing i like best is you do not have to stock both standard & magnum primers, as the winchester is suitable for either. Makes inventory much less of a headache !!!!!!

IMR 7828 is fairly easy to ignite, even large doses such as in the 300 WM. I'd use CCI BR2 for match rifle ammo.

I have used the CCI #250 for years with good results.

To find out if one will do better for you then another, testing will be the only to find that answer.

I have never felt the need.
