Hey all,

Im having a real problem finding the powders normally preferred for the 300blk

Looking for a good 220 gn load to run thru a 16" carbine gas system. The powders i have are:

H110
W296
A2200 and
Imr 4064

Ive worked up a nice supersonic load with 125 SST and 296, but the sub loads are not running the action

Any help from the experience here would be great

Thx

I don't currently do subs but...

Most listings for subs use lt'gun and A1680 (and some others) but not 296/H110.

I don't have/want a 'can' and I understand that the back pressure of the 'can' makes a difference.

Try looking on 300blktalk for more and better information than I can provide. Port size and buffer weight and.....

With safety,

I use 8.9 gr H110 under a Outlaw States subsonic 240 gr softpoint- CCI small pistol magnum primer in a 300 whisper (aka 300-221 Fireball or 300 BLK)
bolt gun and it runs at 1050 +/- 8 fps out of a 16" Lilja barrel.

I can hold 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards and with the "can" is is indeed whisper quiet.
Easy to hear the bullet impact.

Have NO idea if it will work the action on a semi but according to a few guys locally who have it in the AR platform it is very difficult to get subsonic rounds to cycle in the AR.

I have also used the same recipe with a 220 gr. lead cast hollow point (NOE custom mould) with good success.

Again, no idea if it will cycle the action.

Good luck and post any results you get with what you try.
