30/06 from a Bolt Action to an M1 Garand?

I've got a decent amount of 30/06 loads laying around and I'm not sure if they are all too hot for a Garand. My hottest loads are 150gr at around 3000fps. Too hot? I bet it is but how about My 180gr at 2600fps? Do I dare use loads like this?

IMR4064 and I think I have a few rounds with IMR 3031 also.

I have about 400rds of Handloaded 30/06 thats been around for about 6yrs and I was going to shoot up some of it up in a Garand. Its not My gun and I didn't know if I wanted to take any chances.

SodaPop, 3000fps sounds hot. Published 150gr Garand loads are in the 2600 - 2800fps range. It's not a small thing, that extra 200fps represents a significant pressure spike and the M1 action dosen't take well to hot roding. The 180gr I'd want to back off to 2500fps. I've read on Garand Forums that anything over 180gr isn't a good idea to shoot in the M1. If you've got a box or two of ammo to shoot-up it probably dosn't matter, but why risk it in a 60 year old rifle? -- Kernel
