Checked with my local FFL guy. Not at the distributors he deals with yet.

tungsten one with wood grips.

I'll take stainless with the basic Hogue rubber grip, and put on one of the 4 or 5 different Taurus small frame stock sets I have around here.

^ :D I noticed that too. I'm sure they will update that soon.

According to the website, the existing 2-inch model is 22.0 ounces.

I figure you can add another 1.5 to 2.0 ounces for the extra inch of barrel. Taurus may have a real winner on their hands with this one. We'll see; hope so.

Obviously they're still updating the website information.

I checked. The difference between a 2" and a 3" Ruger SP101 is one ounce. I expect that's what we'll see with the 856. And street price will end up ~$50 more than a 2" gun, on account of the front sight.

I am very intrigued by both the 3" 856 and the 8-round 22 WMR they announced at SHOT Show. I'm still waiting for the website to provide some info on the 22. I've been hesitant to purchase Taurus revolvers in the past, but I will take a gamble on the 22 WMR if they offer it with a 3" barrel.

Aluminum is not the only metal that can be anodized, it's just the most common. Steel can be anodized, it's just done with a slightly different process.
