i am looking at a bergara barrel for my 700 rem. they use a barrel nut like the savage. they only offer .224 with a 1 in 10 twist. i use a 1 in 9 now and it works great with the 55 gr loads i shoot. does anyone know the weight range for a 1 in 10 twist? thanks

1:10 might be able to stabilize up to 68/69 gr bullets. 1:9 has no trouble with them, and can sometimes stabilize the 75gr bullets.

Your 55 grainers will work in your 1:10. Probably up to 69 grns. > 77 would be iffy.

I have a 1:7 and use 53 grn bullets for practice to 100 yards, they work great.

You can use faster twist for light bullets, its the other way around that will get you.
