.22 rifle choice

Local store has:

Ruger 77/22 in target grey (I like the look)
Kimber $800 something or other (can't afford it but yumm!)
CZ stainless

The CZ and the ruger are my choices for now.

The CZ is $300 and the Ruger is $400.

Any opinions on either (or both)?

What are you going to use it for?

You are right about the Kimber. It's wonderful. On a budget and looking for accuarcy find yourself a Marlin. Local store doesn't have one go to another town.

I've got an EARLY 77/22...wood stock, blued metal...that I like very much...bought it from a friend who decided he "needed" a Kimber...back when they (Kimber) were in OR--the FIRST time!!!...as I said, REALLY like the Ruger...mine averages 3/4 to 1 inch at 50 yds. w/"economy" high-speed ammo... a gunsmith of my acquaintance has one, and is NOT happy w/his "accuracy"--or lack thereof...HIS gun averages 1 & 1/4 to 2 in. at 50 yards w/ALL ammo...even high $$ stuff!!!...only thing I'd change, if I could, would be to give 'em a better triggerpull out of the box...mine ran about 4 or 4 & 1/4 lbs. stock...MUCH better after some 'smithing!!!....mikey357

Looking to put a (probably leupold) scope on it and use it to train with - I want to enhance my skills for shooting my .308 and 7mm Rem Mag.

I also consider a .22 bolt to be a useful thing to have.
