It was Bruce Hodgdon, but he used a 52 gr. bullet for his favorite Varminter load of 38 gr of his then new powder. Load wise, there isn't a big difference between 52 gr. and 55 gr. bullets, but there is some. So follow Bogie's good advice, start lower and work up, as usual. You might easily get to 38.0 grains or even a little higher, but only you and your personal rifle will know if it is a safe load.
