1911's for LE's

There always seems to be the "which is best" argument between Glocks and 1911's. In observing uniformed LEO's lately I have noticed that most of them carry Glocks, some SIGS, some S & W's, and even a fair assortment of "wheel guns", but absolutely no 1911's have I observed. I wonder how many PD's authorize some version of the 1911 as the "official" carry gun?

Harris county sheriffs dept allows the deputies to carry what they want have seen many carrying the 1911, also Houston PD does the same.
