I have both and love both. I have carried each as my EDC. I never feel under gunned with either. If I was just starting out and had a choice I would go Glock 19. Easy to carry, easy to hide, easy to field strip, and cheaper to shoot.
As a matter of fact that is what I did. I guess I have had my Glock for 20 years or better. I have had four 1911's and own the SR1911 right now. This one will be passed on to one of the kids.
