1911 Recoil spring

Some of you may remember I was having problems with my 1911 jamming while feeding. So I got a new recoil spring to put in it and it came today...its about and inch and a half longer than the one that is in it. I am pretty sure the old spring was just really worn out. I am hoping to get out and shoot it sometime soon. I am pretty sure that this will solve the problem. Thanks for all the help

Sounds like the old spring was REALLY worn out. If you still have feed problems have the extractor checked. A new spring may shove the rounds in by brute force but if it's not feeding smoothly you have a problem. Keep some spare springs on hand and replace it every 2 to 3 thousand rounds.
